The Cosplay Of C2E2 2019

While walking from interview to interview I was constantly on the lookout for interesting cosplay to bring to our audience. As I was too busy to attend the cosplay contest, I still managed to flag a few down that stood out to me. There may have been some others that I missed, however I think I was able to flag down some good ones to share with you.

Erica Fett in a Spider-Jane body suit

First off I had the extreme pleasure of spending a few minutes with the mega cosplay star, Erica Fett. She wore a Spider-Jane body suit at the C4 Magazine booth selling merchandise and greeted long lines of fans. She was kind enough to spend a few minutes with us for Episode 2 of The Nerd Cantina Show. We discussed her background, nerdlife, and the grind of the con circuit. Everyone wants to get close to Erica, so we were very fortunate to get a few minutes with such a nice person and nerd ambassador. Show Erica the same love she showed us and follow her social media (Twitter and Instagram) and take a look at some of the merchandise on her site (Ericafett.com). You couldn’t support a nicer person.

You know it’s going to be a good convention when the first person in line next to you is this awesome Captain Marvel cosplay done by @xelad94. If looks can kill, Thanos doesn’t stand a chance.

I had to take this picture of Overcooked cosplay for two reasons. One, I can’t believe people cosplay this game, and two, my 4 year old daughter has recently started gaming and “the cooking game” is her favorite game. I was asked to credit the woman who made the King, @stefaniesewsshizz

Gender swapping is popular in cosplay and I didn’t see anyone do it better than @miryokucosplay. There were only a few All-Mights from My Hero Academia that I seen and this one was Ultra.

@_harteattack_killed it as this Blood Elf, even if his imp stayed home. With the craziness at C2E2 you would think he casted a fear spell. FOR THE HORDE!

This Afro Samurai cosplay as too good to let walk past me. @cosplayer4fun epically killed this one.

With the next Batman casting up for grabs, @nashvilleknight should drop his voice 6 octaves and rename his mother Martha. Best Batman I had seen all weekend.

Caught this Ashe cosplay far away from the payload. @alyssa_paige17 was the credit I was told to give but could not find the link. Unfortunate because this is top notch Overwatch cosplay.

I literally had to do a double take as @poormanshughjackman walked past me. This guy has definitely found his calling and the perfect Instagram handle.

This Leelu cosplay was on point, but the frosting on the cake was the Leelu Dallas Multipass in hand. Bravo @siriusly_jenny. Commercial! (Chris Tucker voice)

A really Ultra group effort from @banannabat_cosplay, @feldemon_cosplay, @mark_of_the_dragon, and @z_tries_cosplay. My Hero Academia was really prevalent at C2E2. Nezu would surely approve.

You gotta give it up to the cosplayers that are willing to wear stilts all day. This K-2SO, done by @unboundgeekdom, is excellent. Insert sarcastic Star Wars joke here.

@therealjoehernandez killed this Mayor of Halloween Town cosplay. The creator was not in the costume so I wonder who he got to sweat in that thing all day on the floor? The head was even reversible!

Sexual Chocolate Ladies and Gentleman. This cosplay by @willieikerd made everyone’s Soul Glow and cause hilarious commotion as he walked around the convention floor. Well played sir, well played.

Thank you to everyone for letting us showcase your hard work and devotion to cosplay. If you were there or have some epic pics to share please comment below and be sure to subscribe for future articles.

I started this site because I love to share my opinion on many nerd subjects and found that often times I am sought out by friends to give my perspective. I started writing movie reviews and found it very therapeutic to put my thoughts out there. With some encouragement from my brother, The Nerd Cantina was born.
