The Nerd Cantina’s Top Rated Movies of 2018
It’s been a fun first year here at the Cantina and we thought we would give a quick recap of the years top rated movies according to us. This list will only include the movies we had a chance to review and received the top 5 star rating from The Nerd Cantina. We hope you had a great year and find time to enjoy the movies on this list.
- A Quiet Place- This was a fantastically original movie with a great concept and quality story telling. A movie pitched as a thriller but comes off more as a family movie with a sci-fi struggle. This movie provides a very touching story of a family trapped in a terrifying world without sound. A Cantina must see. The Nerd Cantina review posted here.
- Avengers: Infinity War- By far the years most epic movie, Infinity war conquered pop culture in 2018. Star studded casting, along with terrific production and writing, you will be hard pressed to find anything wrong with this movie. If you have yet to view this movie let any excuse you have used turn into dust like every character you have seen on a meme that you have yet to understand. The Nerd Cantina review is posted here.
- Won’t You Be My Neighbor- The most touching movie seen here this year. This is a documentary that saddens and inspires from the telling of a man that this world greatly misses, Fred Rogers. There are few films that can touch you in the manner this film achieves and none that did it better in 2018. The Nerd Cantina review is posted here.
- Bohemian Rhapsody- This movie is one of the funnest experiences in a theatre in 2018. Though the movie has great depth and emotion throughout, the soundtrack and tone of the movie are a fantastically fun experience. If you can still find a theatre showing it you should go just to experience the music on a theatrical level. Another Cantina must see movie. Our review is posted here.
Unfortunately we didn’t get to review every great movie this past year but these are the ones that got a hard earned 5 star The Nerd Cantina review. Please scroll the other reviews here. You will find many that just missed the list but are very good movies. We thank everyone for their support in 2018 and are looking forward to another year of epic movies to review.
