Spider-Man: Far From Home- A Spoiler Free Review
Where do we go from here? That is the question many Marvel fans asked themselves after leaving their first viewing of Avengers: End Game. Spider-Man: Far From Home is the first glimpse into the MCU since the Stark snap, and an end to the constant speculation on where the next starting point is. While the constant media blitz that Disney provides gave many fans preconceived notions on the direction, many will be pleasantly surprised to know that Marvel is very good with misdirection and the thoughts you walked in with may have been off.
Tom Holland (Peter Parker) is the best rendition of Spider-man put to film. He falls right in to the beloved character with great charm and emotion. He truly is the star of this film and looks like the leading character to carry the torch in a Downey-less MCU. Zendaya (MJ) plays his counter-part very well. It is great that she is featured more in Far From Home as she is excellent at playing the cool nerd counter to Peter Parker’s awkward. Jake Gyllenhaal (Mysterio) is a great addition to the MCU. Diverting from Mysterio’s comic presentation, Far From Home puts a modern twist on the Mysterio while maintaining the core of the character. With support from the majority of the previous Spider-Man movie cast, Far From Home progresses not only the Spider-Man franchise, but also the entire MCU, in a very positive direction. You could feel the relief when exiting the film.
To say pleasantly surprised is an understatement. With much fear and speculation, and a media campaign that led most to believe we are diving face first into another crazy, multi-dimensional story line, Far From Home was able to bring some child-like fun back into the MCU all the while addressing key questions that millions of fans have had since leaving End Game. Under no circumstances is it not recognized that this was not going to be an easy task. It is with tremendous gratitude that it can be said that the future of the MCU still looks bright (so far) and no shark shall be jumped today. A family film in every way, Spider-Man: Far From Home has 2 end credit scenes so don’t be too quick to get out of there. With how well this film was done fans will be quick to stop looking at the MCU of the past, and will surely be excited for the future.
