For most couples their wedding night is a night that is special and private. It's not often that it becomes a family activity. Ready or Not is about a family tradition of initiation that takes place on the wedding night of the newly wed couple. A family that has mysteriously amassed a fortune by selling games requires the freshly acquired family member to participate in a game at random. Among those games is a childish pursuit game that this family has turned into a deadly nightmare of hide and seek.

Samara Weaving (Grace), Margot Robbie on a budget, plays the bride that has just married into wealth and is told to join a family tradition of game night. She plays the role well and goes from blushing bride to run and hide, portraying a mixed bag of emotions throughout the film. Some notable costars that make up this crazy family are Henry Czerny (Tony LeDomas),
Mark O'Brien (Alex Le Domas), Adam Brody (Daniel Le Domas) , and
Andie MacDowell (Becky Le Domas). Each actor portrays a unique personality in a diverse, morbid family. The cast is full of familiar faces and some unknowns but comes together as a fitting ensemble for this twisted thriller.

Ready or Not is a fun movie. By no means is it the must see thriller of the summer, but that's not the target it was shooting for. Being in the same theatre as IT 2, it is under some heavy competition in the horror genre at this time so it's understandable if you haven't seen this one. However, don't pass on this movie for a future viewing at some point. With some medium gore and violence Read or Not is not for children, but it isn't so bad that a teenage audience couldn't view it. Ready or Not will make for a good movie night at the house as the winter months come. So don't hide from this movie, go seek it out.
