End Game Pre-sales Crash AMC’s Website
Arguably the most anticipated movie of this generation, Avengers: End Game pre-sale tickets went on sale at 7 a.m. central time. With the surge in traffic from the crazed Marvel fans, AMC servers were no match for the demand. At the time that I am writing this, 4 hours later, the site is still not running and fans like myself have had to physically go to their local AMC and purchase hard tickets. This is damaging to AMC as twitter responses to their advertisement of the End Game pre-sale have been savage. It is hard to believe that this wasn’t a foreseeable issue. Other than possible The Force Awakens, there has not been a more anticipated movie in this generation. For AMC to not have the server capacity ready to handle such traffic shows either a lack of foresight, which is hard to believe, or a lack of concern considering this movie will sell out no matter what issues are occurring. As an A-list member I truly hope it’s not the second. Many other A-list members have gone to twitter to publicly shame AMC and vow to cancel their plan if they are locked out of the movie. There was a line of parents outside of my local AMC with me this morning to purchase tickets as soon as the doors opened. If the only theatre around you is an AMC, I highly suggest you get there and buy your tickets in person. If you are stuck at work or school I truly feel sorry for you but we will be posting our spoiler free review for you opening night if you get locked out for the weekend.
Please leave us a comment with your frustrations or which movie you feel is the most anticipated movie of this generation, End Game or The Force Awakens.
